Here's the link to the PDF file on the mandatory safety equipment by boat size. Taking a few minutes to check your boat over before heading out this weekend will potentially save your life in the worst case. Enforcement will be out in full force and they will be ticketing, and escorting boats off the water who are not in compliance.

Good idea passing this on. I was checked by the RCMP last fall and they were very thorough. Operators cards, registrations, safety equipment, looking for liquor etc.

Reminded me about my PFD not fully inflating in the cold. Really appreciated the visit.

Thanks Dan, always appreciate this each year!

As far as we can see, for a boat like ours (Smokercraft 182 Pro Angler XL - 18.5' length w/115 hp), there are no changes this year.

One thing many folks are likely to question is the "Radar Reflector". In our opinion, particularly for a Tin Boat under 20' long, navigating mainly in daylight hours and low to medium traffic, this isn't necessary.

We may be wrong about this; anybody else?
