Is anyone fishing in either of the Ontario Kayak Bass Trail events that are close to our area this season.(Kawarthas)? $60 to enter. Cash prizes. I'll be going to both.

Balsam Lake is July 7.
Otomabee River is August 18

Just a heads up, but the boat traffic on the Otonabee can be very high on a Saturday in the middle of the summer.

It's a very long river. Different launch sites. But thanks for the heads up. I guess the boats will have to be careful with 30 to 50 kayaks fishing a tournament that day. :D

Good Luck trying to get a bunch of fools in rental pontoon boats to be careful... I was just looking at Navioincs and I actually didn't realize how long the river was. I'm only familiar with the stretch between Bensfort Bridge down to Rice Lake.

Good Luck!!!
