Just wondering what other's buy or recommend to buy for replacement crankbait hooks. I don't find the Rapala hooks on husky jerks and tail dancers too bad as a rule, but still need replaced after time or if they get bent. But Reef Runner hooks are brutal and I find Berkley flicker minnow hooks pretty bad also and they should almost be replaced right out of the package. Just curious what size and brand people use or if I should be replacing split rings also. Thanks!

Size 2 on bigger baits like reef runners and 4 on smaller ones

Agree on the Triple Grips, they stick in real good. Get yourself a set of Split Ring pliers as well, you won't regret it.

They all seem to be short shank. Is that what I want?

About five years ago - maybe more - most of our Guys around the Bay's North-West area switched to Red Hooks.

Can't remember who, or why it got started. All of a sudden with two Guys in the same boat, and same rigging save for hooks, One started catching more Wallies than 'The Other'.

Most just replace the back hooks, rather than go all out.

For me, it is vmc barbarian red hooks. I like the triple grip for ice fishing. I also have noticed that I'll put a number 2 on the back and a number 4 on the front. It changes the action slightly and it seemed to improve the strike ratio

Right on, well at least now I have an idea of what size and possibly colour hooks to buy. Ill check out the different brands mentioned. Thanks to all for the info! as always much appreciated.

Mustad KVD elite trebles

Triple grips are the worst hooks I’ve ever used... the inward bend missed fish steady... once I bent them out they worked great but stock they are terrible
