Just bought a 10 year old Ranger 620VS and it needs a bit of rejuvenation.

Was going to tackle a wetsand/polish/wax project and wondered if anyone had any recommendations/warnings. Would love to hand it over to a detailer, but not sure of any in the area focused on this type of work on glass boats.

Any help appreciated.

I saw on Facebook a fellow under the name, Kyle's Ultimate Polishing in Peterborough does this sort of work. Also states that he will come to you. Before and after photos look pretty impressive . Good luck

Lately Ronny's has looked like a ghost town when usually there are boats everywhere, hopefully still open.

Talk to Jamie at ProAdvantage in Belleville. I know he had a contact who did some amazing work on his ~20 year old Ranger.

after a little research, I DIY'd it.

Went 3m wet/dry 1000 grit, then 2000 grit for the wet sanding stages.\

I then used a random orbital polisher from Griots (6", 25' cord, around $200) and did 3 stages.
Compound - using Menzerna Intensive Polish and a YELLOW Lake Country pad.
Polish - Chemical Guys polish and WHITE Lake Country pad.
Wax - Chemical guys liquid carnauba wax and a BLACK Lake Country pad.

Total cost of materials $300. Total time about 12 hrs over 2 days, one day I did the sanding, next day I did the compound/polish/wax.

Quite happy with it.

Before (perfectly clean...that's all oxidation)

After wet sanding the back half...bit overexposed but if you enlarge the pic, you can see where I stopped half way up. At this stage the boat doesn't shine, it's more matte, dull and finely scratched from the sandpaper, but the oxidation and any light scratches/rubs are gone.

After cut compound, polish and wax...will have to re-shoot in the sun but it came out great, like a mirror. The compound step uses a firm pad and the compound liquid has the ability to take out all the scratches from the sanding. The polish step is what makes it look new, and then wax to protect.

Something you can take pride in when you show the before and after pictures to those standing around at the ramp drooling over your ride....

Good job, and you now have some new skills.
