Launched out of deseronto with the hope of getting on to a jig bite. Minnows, jigging spoons and hot coffee on hand we headed up the reach towards Thompson's point. It was cold with air temp at -5. As we neared Huff's I noticed the water looked different then as we got closer I realized it was different because it was frozen.

Just a skimming but it was frozen right across and quite a large area.

Finally made it through to open water and started jigging at Thompson's. Marked quite a few on bottom but the fish weren't in the mood. There were a bunch of boats out both jigging and trolling and I didn't see anyone land anything. Ended up catching 3 eyes with the biggest about 3 lbs and the smallest about the same size as a Cuban cigar. Pulled the plug about 1:00 and headed back. The ice at Huff's was all gone. Hopefully the cold weather comes and stays so that we can be celebrating the holidays fishing on the hardwater
