Man, we're shaking our Head in disbelief, after recovering from the initial shock of seeing him go in.

Betcha any Medical-related Personnel watching must have nearly choked on whutever Drink du Choix they had in hand?

In our opinion, that was NUTS! A Guy that size, that age, despite obviously being in decent Health, should never have attempted it, regardless of well-meant intent.

Imagine for example - ten feet of water, NOT tethered in initial stages, right? - if he misjudges, and slips under/away from the open hole? Only option: widen hole... with a Chain Saw?? Think about THAT!~

Kudos to The Guy for Volunteering, but... what was the Chief of the Fire Department thinking? If that is a standard Training Procedure for FDs, we've led a far-too-sheltered Life. (Btw: we know many FDs do practice similar scenarios, but with far better safety requirements.)
