We put in at the ferry terminal in the dark, after breaking the ice. Then broke through a kilometer of thin ice before we could put the boards in the water. After that the weather got bad with snow and freezing slush for the next few hours. We did manage to put one 11 lber in the boat and had another one close to the net but it made it's own "catch and release". Most fish we caught this year were on "Barbie" patterns in Reef runners and Bandits. Finally we had enough and headed for the dock to find the wind had cleared the ice, much easier loading the boat. I'm not sure how everyone else did this last couple of weeks but I found it a little slow compared to early November. Guess it's time to put the boat away, and get ready for hard water fishing.

You're a trooper persevering through all that ice breaking just to go fishing. I would have done it to in a heartbeat too! I'm glad you were rewarded with a great big Pickerel for your efforts. Well done and congratulations. Thanks for sharing your picture. Nice looking fish!

Cheers, Kevin
