Good evening. A group of us are looking to try fishing the bay of quinte this febuary. We will be staying near Deseronto. Wondering if there are any pointer to where to go and where not to.not looking for anyone secrete spot we just dont know this area at all. Also looking to take atvs there so wondering kn average what is the lake like to travel with them? Coming from lake simcoe so I know it can be hit or miss depending on the year but honestly dont know anything about the area. Thanks in advance

I would ask back in a little while. Right now off of Deseronto is basically open and is real bad current area. Don’t see a lot of 4 wheelers out there most years if other areas have around 10” plus. Than out from Deseronto would have about 5-7 inches

There's a large area on the north side of Foresters that has strong current and very sketchy ice. You can have good ice up to it and then nothing. The ice thickness can also change over night.
Heading west towards the bridge can also be risky so be very careful down there. We use to fish off the foot of Mill St. maybe 400 or 500 yds out. Got some fish but not great.
As far as I know the better ice fishing is south down Long Reach towards Picton. Can't say about Belleville.
If we have Ice Huff's is good but don't park on the road. There's usually a field for $5.00 or guy's park along the shore.

As Bigbassin18 pointed out, right now the ice isn't good. Ask again towards the end of January and see how it looks.

I've had success in past directly out from the boat ramp in Deseronto.. either straight out until you're in 20-25' or toward Foresters Island to the WEST

just be careful there's strong current that runs through there
