did you guys get this rain today? :? i live a couple hours west down by long point and we got hammered with rain and +4 weather, just as the bay was getting great ice built up..... so i was planning on coming back for round two on the BOQ, last time we was up i fished point ann and ice was 10 inches so i assume as long as the shore tight still it should be okay but years past I fish huffs was hoping to get out there! appreciate any input
thanks in advance!!

Hey guys, tried to venture out to big bay area today and there is a lot of water build up on top of the ice so my feet got soaked and called it a day. Ice is fine though. Need some better boots i suppose haha.
It seemed to pool up near the shoreline and gets better as you travel out. Just need it to get colder to firm it up. Good luck out there!

How much snow was on ice before the rain? Do you think it will freeze before Sat? I am planning to hit Huffs area.

There’s approximately 3 to 4 inches water and slush on Long Reach, colder temps in the forecast, should be skateable by the weekend. Don’t forget to pack the cleats!

its holding up as of yesterday afternoon. Was out and found that the snow is now all slush and very wet. lots of clear sections with no snow but 3-4" of water. ice was 5-7" hopefully all that water will freeze over and firm things up by the weekend.

There was 6" at Huff's underneath a layer of thin layer of ice and then water/slush in certain spots. Was quite slippery and a tough pull without a smitty sled. The bottom of the sled got wet and the snow stuck to it. It was starting to firm up this afternoon.
