Quinte Fishing

I know this may not be part of the bay but I am sure some of you get out to lake O to try for some Lake Trout.

I wanted to know if someone could recomend a good area in the eastern part of Lake Ontario to try to catch some shallow lake trout?

You can try Lake trout at Wellington, just as soon as leave channel set up and run along sandbanks. Use planer boards if you have them have had good luck in the past. Was there yesterday and no boats were fishing lake Ontario. There was a boat in West Lake fishing along the inside of the sand banks, I presume wouldn't have been there if the strike was over. I was talking to owner of campground and she said there has been quite a few boats running on the lake after dark. Hmm I wonder what they might be doing.

Was out last Sat (20th) off Wicklow picked up one about 6-6 lb. and lost one. Tried in close to shore, nothing. Moved out to 75-80 ft marked fish on bottom and run cannon-ball allmost on bottom. This is where the fish were caught. For the past few years there doesn't seem to be any fish in on the beach 7-12 ft. Last year fishing was good off Long Point in 80'+ of water.
