Out of curiosity,

Which one is better? Why would people seem to opt for flasher when fish tv see exact what they are looking at instead of decoding a bar movement on the display like flasher do?

I’ve been shopping for flasher, stuck between if I should get flasher, OR buy ice fishing transducer and use my HDS7 gen3. But came across this Fish tv link: below on amazon and got me wondering. Why do hardwater angler apparently opt for flashers over fish tv.

I have both ...enjoy both for different reasons but TV does not work well in early morning before light comes up or late afternoon when it is getting darker....great in the day ...flasher works all the time...even if your not sure what type of fish it is.

Always wanted to try one of the T.V's , must be twice as aggrevating when you can see the actual fish compared to mark on the flasher. Seeing an 18 lb walter swim away is harder to swallow than maybe it was an 18 lb walter

Flasher 1st. Then get a camera for fun

I'd get the finder first. Gives you depth, which I guess you can estimate with the camera cable and marks all the fish in the tranducer cone.

Camera would be interesting to see what's down there.

Definitely flasher first. I love my camera and it has taught me a lot and is so much fun. However cameral only monitors a vertical height of about 2 feet when looking a your lure. A standard technique and the one I rely on the most is to start to leave or rise when the walleye comes into view (cat and mouse game), with a cameral you quickly lose visual as you rise, however the flasher allows you to see if the walleye is following all the way up the water column. In summary you want both but the flasher is the most important and most practical. I would fish without a camera but not my flasher.

Good luck
Shawn

cameras often dont give you clear picture in deep water or dark water but the sonar will always bounce signal back.
