I grew up in Belleville right on the river by the Lott Dam. I have not fished the opener since the early 2000's when the numbers crashed. I live in Barrie now and as you can imagine, it is a long drive just to flog dead waters. I am wondering if it is worth a visit on the opening weekend this year. What say you?

Well for me a bad day on the water is better than most everything else ;) I’d say always worth the trip. If you don’t locate there then the adventure continues... best of luck FISHON

I haven't fished Moira in early season but do in the Fall.

We did very well last Fall / Winter so would have to say there are lots of walleye around and even caught a few big smallies with drop-shot.

What part of the river were you in? I have never caught walleye in the fall in the Moira.

I launch at O'Brians bridge and just work around the deeper holes. Watch out for rocks though going either way from bridge. Last year our best areas were East towards the Islands.
