Has anyone on the board stayed at this campground? I'm wondering if it has docks or mooring to leave your boat in overnight.
Thanks

Thanks for the reply fireball. It looks like a nice park. I'll have to check it out.

Nice park. A roll out dock for launching. Pretty basic. The ramp is narrow concrete with sand at the end. It's a little shallow for a big boat when the water is lower. 18-16 ft fits fine. I would consider it more of a shore launch in the late summer, early fall.

There's some docks at the east end of the park bit I think the campers put them out there.

I visted a friend who was just nosing his boat to shore. Worked fine.

I'd call and see, everyone is pretty good down there. It's like a small community.

I believe the nearest overnight docking would be Picton Harbour.

Hope this helps.

I used to launch my 14 ft there all the time, right across from keith's shoal so made it convenient as glenora launch can be a pain sometimes, the pull the docks early in the fall though

Thanks for the response guys. This was exactly the information I was hoping for. I only have a 17'runabout, so it sounds like it would be fine and don't mind mooring it just off shore it the wind is ok
Thanks Ron

Not sure if I would anchor it offshore, sometimes those winds can really pick right up (that section is exposed to the wind as it's open- lyons island does offer some protection). They do have a dock as some have mentioned, but it's a smaller dock one you could tie to while launching, but would block the ramp. Right off the point to the left is a rock shoal and pending water levels, is relatively shallow, so something to keep in mind. As much as it may be a pain, I'd suggest pulling it in overnight. There's been a few summers where I have boats come ashore at my cottage which is just across on the south side- folks have tied them up, or anchored and they would usually find their way to the point just down from cottage- some had been dragging anchors.

A friend keeps a seasonal trailer there and tells me most launch at Glenora and bring their boat back to their site when done. He tells me one camper that has his own dock there frequently finds snakes in his boat.
