We all have them so with the pic post of Dan's rod pile. ???
How many rods do you pack in your boat for a single fisherperson?
I will usually carry 4 at all times but have been known to bring 6 or more in the boat with 3-4 in my vehicle?

I have 11, 10 too many according to my wife.

I carry 2 of most, in case I have company.

2 counters with lead line, 2 counters for dipsys and planers, 4 medium spinning, 2 small spinning, 1 bait caster.

Not much room for anything else.

Depends on what I'm fishing for and what vessel.
Kayak is usually 4.
Boat
Walley usually 3-4.
Bass 3-4.
Trout 4+
Salmon 6+

Usually a trolling rod with two colours lead core, bait caster with bottom bouncer set up, spin cast with spinner. Bait cast with worm or spinnerbait.
If trout fishing I add deep jig baitcaster and trolling outfits for riggers and lead core rods
Salmon means planer board rods with different length lead core and or weighted steel and or copper (this could easily be over 6 rods for a solo trip) , at least two rigger rods, 2 dipsey rods.
Plus spares!
Now I know why I'm broke.....

I take 2 maybe a 3rd at most. I used to load the boat with a minimum 6. Plus my companion would do the same. After 20 some years I finally wised up. Most rods never seemed to equate to more fish..Ever! Just seem to spend more time farting around with different tackle and less time actually fishing.

For myself 2 walleye fishing, 5 bass fishing. When my wife comes with me (which is pretty much every time) 2 more for walleye and 4 more for bass. And honestly, all the rods get used when we go out. I also have 4 linecounter rods for the Big Mommas in the fall.

During spring eye fishing I carry 2 line counters, b bouncer rod, 2 skiing rods for casting and 2 jigging rods. For bass I lost count but probably about 12-14 rods in the noat

Man you must be serious about fishing if you have two rods when casting one sinko. :D

Lets see, fishing gear for ice fishing, including the rod/reels for pan fish, walleye/trout, pike/lakers. Then open water gear for , pan fish, walleye/trout ,pike/lakers, largemouth smallmouth, there's trolling rod/reels jigging rod/reels flipping, casting cranking topwater ect ect ect.

Funny how I never have too many, well until it is time to get new line. :o
How did I ever manage to catch fish when I only had one rod/reel and one little tackle box?

We're so bloody lucky; our two main 'Honey Holes' are less than a km from our dock. (Add in the electric trolling motor used most of the time, and you do NOT want to do the Math on how much fuel's been saved in over 20 years living in this spot. Some years we don't burn a single tank.~)

We usually pack two 7' spinners for Walleye trolling, a 6' medium heavy bait caster for jigging, and a 5.5' lightweight back up spinner in case the Grandkids happen to show up.

Plus TWO nets - got THAT t-shirt lonnnng ago.

Any change in conditions, we just hi-tail it back to the dock to reload.

in my kayak or my boat, I bring 4-5 rods for bass fishing. Don't like having to tie something on, just like having most presentations handy. I don't generally target/troll for walleye but I will work the walleye presentations (erie deerie etc) into the bass rods if I do.

bass fishing
spinning weightless senko rod for docks
spinning texas rigged plastic with weight/stopper
spinning dropshot rod
casting x2 that I can use for crankbaits/spinnerbaits/topwater/jig+creature, 1 medium, and one strong med-heavy

Always feels like too many, until I'm out there I wish I had more so I wouldn't need to fuss around changing baits on the casting rods.
