According to reports, the fish are biting in Hay Bay, in all the usual hot spots.

We're gonna give it a go today, with my grandsons.

Stay Tuned

We got out this morning and fished the weedbed at Kingscourt, and landed 3 walleye in the first 15 mins. Then it tapered off and we ended at 1215 with 9 walleye landed and retained 6 for the table( between 17.5 & 19 inches). My grandson's guest also hit a pair of sheepshead that tested his ability with rod & reel.

A real good morning- 7 on Uzick Spinners and two on the Swinging Spinner ( a silver blade I have available)

The boys had a great time - kept busy the whole time.

Stay tuned

Our Tuesday morning departure was delayed by possible thunder storms in the area, so after a LONG wait on Tuesday we hit the water and headed to our hot spot from Monday.

Finally got the rods out at 0955 and then the fun was on. Besides the winds blowing us around, we were getting fish. We landed 3 in 15 minutes and kept going for another 45 mins as the car was departing for Toronto and we had to get back, eat lunch, clean fish, pack the bags and pack the car.

We pulled our lines at 1100 and headed back to the dock, WHAT AN HOUR!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The total was 10 landed walleyes with 6 in the 17-20 inch bracket to keep. The boys were over the moon, what an hour.......

The Orange Uzick and the Silver Swinger were the fish catchers again.

I am hopeful that the bite will remain as this Saturday is the Bayview on Hay Bay Campers Fishing Derby.

It's hard to explain that fishing is NOT always as great as we had it and that sometimes the livewell is empty on the return to the dock. I hope our boys can understand the nature of fishing.

Stay Tuned
