Quinte Fishing

Hi guys,
I'm new to the forum. The reason for joining is because my in-laws just purchased a cottage on Knowlton Lake.
We don't have a boat for the time being but I plan on getting one in the Spring of 2020.
Cottage is located on the East side of the lake , closer to the South end.
I would appreciate any information you could pass on. What I have heard so far is the the Pike are near impossible to catch in the summer and you'll have better luck through the ice in February. I have been told the West side is better for Bass. It is deep off our dock and a very weedy shoreline. Impossible for the kids to cast without snagging but I have tried Topwater, running spinner baits over the weeds and Texas rig but it's tough getting the Texas through the thick vegetation without getting covered quickly.
Any advice on the lake would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you

I've only fished lake trout there. Get yourself a set of downriggers and you're all set.

fished there this weekend for the first time. Drop shot for small mouth seemed to work. Out in the middle near the south end along the weedline worked for us. nothing big but we did see a tank of a largemouth swim under the boat....!

retired to this area and fish Knowlton alot. great little lake, have seen a couple of 10+ pike come out of it over the years and have caught a 6+ largemouth two years ago. the small bays at either end on the west side will give up lots of smallies when they're on and the area around the pencil reeds mid way on the west side can produce some nice fish. east side is very deep and does produce some nice deep water lakers, you'll see a couple of boats that fish lakers regularly. if you've got little ones grab some worms knowlton has lots of pan fish too

The kids have been busy catching pan fish throughout the day. I managed a couple of Largemouth from the dock.
I look fwd to getting a boat and trying my luck with the Lakers.
I am surprised there has been no sign of Pike patrolling the deadline here around my waterfront. Makes me think Pike are scarce here.

Pike are plentiful.
Drag a grub or tube around (slowly) at 30 to 50 of water.
Lakers are easily found with a graph, 50' and lower, then grab a 5/8oz white tube.

No boat yet. Will have one by next Spring at the latest, hopefully!
Off and around our shoreline are thick weed lines and 10-15 feet of water. We are 3/4 way down the South West side.
I was surprised there was no sign of a Pike patrolling the area at all.
My young lad did catch a couple of Bullheads which made him very happy!
The lake seems great and the people friendly. Looking forward to many trips to the cottage
