Quinte Fishing

I recently watched an episode of River Monsters where the host Jeremy was fishing next to the defunct Chernobyl power plant. He was casting from the edge of the river pulling in some large walleyes one after the other. But he kept calling them zanders. So I looked it up and it's apparently another species of walleye. Some say it's actually a walleye but called by a different name in Europe. If you search for zander world record, you see some large specimens being caught. Some are are well in excess of 30lbs. Hard to tell if they are Photoshop'd. As far as I know, the world record for a walleye is 22lbs. So is this really a different species? Have they been introduced to North America yet? None of the zanders he caught had any deformities. They looked pretty healthy. Not sure I'd eat them though.

I know there are saugers in Nortth America. I've never caught one. Has anyone ever caught a sauger in BoQ?

Related but different species! I've only caught Saugers in the Ottawa River! None in the Bay!
