After a few years of dodging hooks while trolling under the bridge someone finally thought it would be a good idea to stop people from hanging lines over the bridge down to the Bay below.

Of late it has been getting worse with guys fishing a third of the way up the bridge hanging lines 50-60 feet down right where boats go through on the south side.

I watched a guy haul up a small (3 lb-ish) drum about 50 feet from the water the other day on a medium rod. Kinda ridiculous.

Here's a (blurry) photo of the signs they've put up on the lamp posts on both sides:

it will be interesting to see if they actually enforce it. Ive seen guys standing on the steel Ibeams below the bridge late in the year.

I reckon people won't want to lose their fishing licenses or eat a $110 fine or something. We'll see.

They were not hurting anyone, BS decision. Not everyone can afford a boat. I was out there not to long ago and indeed they walked all the way out on an I beem. I say leave them alone. I can fish all over the bay they can’t.

Not a BS decision.

Boaters shouldn't have to worry about lures in their face.
And what the hell are you going to do when a 10 lber hits your line?
Stupid place to fish..
