Went out with the father in-law today more just to check things out. Stopped off on the north side and could see open water but noticed a couple huts on the south side so we drove through consecon to the other end and were able to walk out on 3-3.5" of ice. Ice was definitely soft with lots of air bubbles in the ice. Set up in 14 fow with nothing to show for but was still nice to finally get. Should be able to get out to the better spots after the weekend.

Another note seen a few out at potters and jus off wilkie rd? I think it was. No idea on ice conditions but some peeps are out there.

Stay safe and tight lines

Mobb.

Forgot to mention I seen a 30" gar pike right under the ice first time for that, was kinda cool.

thanks for the report...that would be very cool to see and get pictures of. Quinte sure has some gar-beasts.

Went back out tonight. Tried going off smokes point Rd took a look south and still open water so we headed to the public launch. Setup in 18fow with about 5" of ice. One guy had a quad but I'll wait before I bring mine out. Managed an eater between me and the father in-law and I had a pike snap my line. Snow isn't to deep but was able to keep the skirt down on the hut.
