Quinte Fishing

Good morning all! I am looking at going to Potters tomorrow morning. If anyone has information on the area it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I havent been there yet this year but have seen folks out there as I'm driving by. A friend was there the other day before the snowstorm and reported to me 4-5" inches of ice where he was and he didnt go too far out. As usual take full precautions and check the ice as you go as im hearing from many that the ice can be 5" under your foot here and a few steps later it drops to 2". Hope you get into them

Thanks Dan! I have not been down that way at all this year. I was hoping to bring my snowmobile with me. wit what you are saying it doesn't sound to promising. I have fished Potters a few times now as this is the only spot I know and have not had any luck. Would like to learn more areas around the bay to try out as well.

I was at Potter's yesterday (Jan 20th). There were about 10 groups out and not that far off shore. Ice was about 4 inches where I drilled. There were pop up shelters but no permanent huts. There were no ATVS and no snowmobiles. Snow drifts were about a foot deep in places (not good for making ice thicker!). Overall, ice is dicey.

Out there with the perch today, tight-lipped little buggers. About 5 inches where I was 1/2 way to the green buoy. I stayed on the path that was generated by the Sunday / Monday fishers. Had the Vex marking fish and the Aqua-vu seeing fish, only one small walleye seen and a lot of small perch along with maybe 1/2 dozen jumbos. 6 hours of fishing resulted in one jumbo along with 3 small perch.
There was a gentleman about 100 yards from me and he believes he hooked into a smaller walleye but no joy, long-distance release.

hi guys, I am thinking of heading out to potters this weekend coming from Waterloo not sure if the ice is atv ready or just walking. any info would be appreciated thanks in advance!

Out there this afternoon and stayed till dark. About 7 inches where I was did not see bikes or sleds out there. I was 2/3 of the way to the green buoy. A good number of people out but all on foot.

6 small perch 4-5 inches and that was it. Did not hear a hollar or hurray.
