Hello I will have some time off work this Spring and I am hoping to make a trip across the border to try my luck at some NY state brown trout this April. Not sure if any of the US guys are on here any more. Just wondering if anyone had any tips, mainly about boat launching locations in the Spring? Mexico Bay? Henderson Bay?..... ? Thanks. If anyone is interested in making a trip over this Spring, send me a message. Most of my fishing buddies are bass guys, so hard to find guys to go trolling. I am in Smiths Falls area, so would be crossing border at Ivy Lea.

Thanks

Jim Wilson

Thanks Mike.

Things are okay. I have not been fishing much in the last year. Hoping to do some trout fishing later this Spring as well as hit some Quinte eyes. I am actually going in for double coronary artery bypass surgery this week on Thursday, so no fishing for awhile. But then plan on lots of fishing come late spring and summer.

Tight lines.

The entire south shore is great for browns. The Rochester area is a great fishery due to the colored water from the Genesee River. Springs that are dry, most areas clear up and become tough. The Rochester basin stays colored near the river and fishes good all spring. There are also spring kings around in decent numbers most years and it is some of the best lake trout water on the lake.
