Heading to the bay for weekend of fishing can you guys give an ice report for area thanks in advance we need 8” for our gear

There was 8 " last week. With cold this week it should be fine.
I will be out there Sunday.

I was off Point Anne on Sunday on less than 3" of mostly white ice. Quite sure it would have sunk your outfit. Pic is from about 20ft heading out towards the green buoy. I'm sure it's better away from the narrows but you'll want to check for yourself. I had to really shrink the pic but you get the idea.

What he is referring to is Massassauga point area, stay clear to the west. If you are going off the parking lot near the cement plant on the East End, there was 8" of ice all the way across a week and half ago.
