There has been lots of fishing activity on Moira since early January. Lots of huts out on the west side with ice thickness sufficient to support trucks (15+ inches, mostly solid black ice). People are driving to their huts in most areas. There are currently roadways on the ice leading west and north from the access off Hwy 62 just south of the bridge. I've caught a few pike, a couple of slot walleye and a bunch of perch so far this winter. Dead sticking live minnows or jigging with minnows on the lure both have worked.

Regarding the portion east of Hwy 62, there is good ice everywhere except near the bridge. Access to that side of the lake can be challenging because the public access is close to the bridge where the ice is bad.
