I usually don't put the boat in the water until the walleye opener, but with the early open water and snow melt I can pull it out of storage this weekend. Thoughts on species to target in the Kingston to Quinte area? I hear ppl talking about 'browns' but never fished them. Lakers? Perch?

It’s laker time now! Look for rocky underwater structure near deep water including shoreline.

Never done the brown game but planning a trip to Mexico,NY to do that next weekend.

Yes trolling for lake trout on Lake Ontario north shore is a great option this time of year as they are shallow. I am hoping to get out soon, if my boat repairs get done.

@BigMac good luck in NY for browns. I am hoping to make a trip down in April.

Anyone know if Waupoos launch/bay would still be frozen at this time of year right now for Pike?

I live pretty much on the Crowe and pike is open all year. As soon as the ice is off I will be out. Always a lot of fun getting them at that time of year.
