Was out to fish yesterday morning at 0700 with HayBay Larry, visiting Hay Bay. Went to fish the flats at the east end of the bay.

Water was flat and LOTS of surface weeds and the weeds are emerging from the bottom, so in 7.5' they're right below the surface and SOON will emerge to the surface.

HBL got several perch and I hit a 16" eye on the Orange Uzick and closed the day with a bullhead.

Back for breakfast at 0900 as HBL had to scurry back to Ottawa.

It was a great day, sunshine wise and decided to head back out for the late evening fish with Ohio Joe.

Headed to Shermans to drag a Uzick around there, made two circles and couldn't draw a perch hit.

Motored over to Thompsons Cove along with five other boats all trolling weed lines and one plunked right in the middle of the weed bed. Lots of perch, tons of baitfish schools and we saw pods of walleyes close the baitfish. Just perch. Go to Plan B.

Plan B was to flatline a couple of Taildancers set in the rod holders, trolled from Thompsons to the yellow marker and over to the high shore. Heading towards Shermans from Grandfathers' Cove, Joe's rod screamed. He was able to land a nice 23" - 3.0lbs eye. Made another pass and headed to Shermans, where we called it a night at 2045.

People in the fish cleaning hut had a success also, looks like the bite's still on. Pick your spots.

Stay Tuned.....

David,
It was a short 1 hour on the water but i still enjoyed dippin' a rod in Quinte! My first time this year! It still reminded me of why I lived there for 5 years.
Great fishing with you, will do it again later in the season...larry
