My thoughts. Why can't launches be open to local residents? Make it illegal for anyone not living in Prince Edward County to use the launches here until the state of emergency is over. The reason they are closed is to prevent people from other communities from coming here and spreading this as P.E.C is a fishing destination. Have a bylaw officer randomly check for proof of residence at a few launches a few times and charge anyone breaking the rules. Word would get out pretty quickly if a few huge fines were given out and it ended up on Global News. Some may still come, but it would definitely cut numbers down. Fish in your own community until it's safe to travel again.
That is not the reason they are closed. If you think because you are local means that you're not at risk, you are wrong. Local people go to work everyday, do groceries everyday, go to Walmart everyday, get gas everyday, get beer/liquor everyday etc... As long as people are out coming in contact with other people, there is risk. The reason they are closed, is because a lot of people don't use common sense, and law enforcement doesn't have to want to babysit these people. Shut certain things down, and they won't have to worry about it.
