Drove by this morning and saw 6 vehicles and trailers and one about to launch. I thought that the ramps
were all closed. Saw two boats on the flats and two in front of the church.

I assume the old church your referring to is the Cataraqui Conservation launch.

It is closed and the guy I talked to said they'd be watching it and issuing tickets.

Boat Ramps and Water Access Points
View list and location of boat ramps and water access points.

The following boat ramps are closed to be in line with municipalities that have closed their boat launches:

Henry Street (City of Brockville)
Hay Bay (Town of Greater Napanee) This is launch beside the old Loyalist Church

Good luck.

Actually, I spoke with Cataraqui Conservation back on the 16th of April to find out what the plan was for their launch. What he told me is what I posted.
Only intent was to save someone grief.
Good luck.

From self proclaimed one crusty old fart to another don't sweat it
A fishing buddy a retired police officer told me that people with these attitudes paid his for his groceries for 35 years and now pay his pension.
Police boat was out today first question he asked was where I was from? Where did i launch?
BTW
Nice day on water very slow fishing 2 dozen or so boats in Nappanee River saw 6-8 walleye caught nothing over 16" I managed 2 bite offs from pike
just for 4 hours today
Before anyone gets all indignant
I live full time on waterfront, launched boat a week ago from private property, just need to fix ruts in lawn, I fished solo

I too launched from private property Hay Bay. Got two bites around Ram’s Island and nothing in Front of Pickerel Park. I didn’t see anyone catch anything but perch.

We also have private launch. Fished hay bay this morning managed 5 this morning and one big pile. All between 2-4 pounds all jacks too. And went tonight till it started to rain got 1 at 3.75. It was nice to get a line wet. But very odd looking around and not seeing what I’m used to on opening weekend

Don't know but then nobody I know would be using it, perhaps somebody got nabbed? perhaps not on board or feel a little silly after ignoring the friendly warning, if they read the post that is.

I’m sure your retired friend told you that you didn’t have to answer either of those questions. The worst that would’ve happened to you would’ve been an extra long safety inspection, and of course a ticket if you didn’t have a required safety device.

Yes I know,
I had nothing to hide.
I believe in treating enforcement officers with respect, after all they are just doing their jobs, a 5 minute break from fishing, a few laughs no big deal.

I not saying you did nor do think anyone should be rude to the police. And a simple glance at the info on a boaters card would give most policemen the info they need to figure out where you live. It’s just that a lot if people seem to think they aren’t allowed to leave their neighbourhood, and that’s simply not true. Nor is anyone obligated to tell anyone what their launch point was. In fact I’d advise they don’t. Good fishing!

Lets agree to differ, we obviously have different outlooks on life, rules and law enforcement.
Lets talk about fishing instead.
It's been slowly warming up at the east end of the lake, fish are very shallow, biting very lightly, back hook on harness stung most of my fish, since Saturday between me and a neighbour both fishing solo have cleaned a total of 8 walleye for fish dinners, all perfect 17-19" eaters, 7 of the 8 have been males, mind you we both toss back anything over 20" so perhaps those larger fish were female?
Didn't get out today but heard through grapevine it was better than yesterday, but then isn't that always the case. Out again tomorrow then yard work & cold wet weather will keep me at dock till Monday
