Minn Kota Powerdrive with iPilot High Pitch Noise

Just bought a new Minn Kota Powerdrive trolling motor with ipilot. The steering motor makes a high pitch noise when there is a turn. This is electrical noise because it only sounds at very beginning of a turn. At auto-pilot mode, it makes noise like an old telegraph machine when steering motor keeps turning. Minn Kota support said this is normal operation. Just wander if this happens with other Powerdrive trolling motor and how to live with it.

I have a 70lb Powerdrive and it doesn't make any noise. Or not like you describe. Take it back to where you bought it and see if they'll give you a new one.
