Quinte Fishing

The bass have seemed to have hunkered down on their summer pattern, deep weedlines. This week my numbers have dropped but still catching good average size bass, although still in search of a five pounder so far this year. I have been dunking deep cabbage on drops with a 3/4 oz jig and Max scent trailer. I am primarily using a Hack Attack peanut butter bug jig and African safari colour trailer. This combo is about as close to a bluegill as I can get, without throwing a traditional greenpumpkin or watermelon and of course black/blue and still have the ability to be seen by the fish. The fish seem to be right in the thick part of the weeds and take a bit of coaxing. The Bay is getting some colour to the water now, in Northport the water seems to be a little brownish not the summer green and everything blowing on my beach is brown muck. " Stick em"

10 to 15 feet deep?

I've been finding the same, been catching them in about 10-14ft of water during the day with healthy salad on bottom.

Was actually trolling for walleye with bottom bouncers and a harness tipped with nightcrawlers and landed a couple of nice ones near Trenton.

Is that middle one a smallie? If so...a beauty! Great fight I bet....

Yeah, it was a smallie. And thank you, it was a great fight! I always find smallies give a better fight than the largemouth.
