Last weekend was tough fishing in hay bay. Managed to catch 2 walleye. Anyone else finding it tough? Are the shad in right now?

i think its early for shad. I have been hearing from others that the fishing has been tough. For me I have always found late august and September to be tough

The word at our place on Hay Bay is tough fishing.

I watched a You Tube video yesterday post on the 22nd, fishing on the big lake and the fishing was HOT.

Depends where you are.

Thanks for the info guys. The big lake is too far of a run for me by boat.

It's been smokin' hot on my (inland) home lake....weather and fishin'

I had a couple of buddies come up to my home lake this weekend. Both LM and SM were very co-operative...even the passing t-storms didn't shut down the bite. Well over a 100 Bass in 3 days. Triple that if you counted the dinks. Nothing huge, but some quality fish. Top pattern was a Ned rig with Hula Stick in Canada Craw around deep cabbage and weed/rock transitions. Both green and brown fish coming out of the same 15 to 25 fow. Drop shot and swimbaits in pumpkin/candy patterns also did some damage.

Wow! Nice Fish!!!

...good to see and thanks for the report.

I'm staying off Lake O tomorrow and going to a back lake instead. Hopefully find something wanting to play.

Of course, I'm sure there will posts and people telling me I should have been there and they were on fire!

Dan - sure hope you're one of them.

Cheers

Zoey is a pointer (Hungarian Viszla), but she like things with fins rather than feathers. Best fishing buddy I've ever had...never complains, doesn't drink my beer, and always ready to go...

ps...she's pretty good with Grouse too !!

Speaking of Dawgs...

For several weeks (?) we've watched a Net Series called "Sailing with Nandji" (or something similar). Star of the Show is a remarkable Pooch named Marley - a "Humpback Whippet". We may not have spelling or punctuation correct on the Pup, but he is one VERY capable Puppy Dawg.

Along with Marley, the Series features two young Aussies (she turned 22 halfway thru the nearly 200 episodes), and they are trying to 'Sail the World' in an elderly 40' yacht (Nandji)... obtained for $13,000 cash if we correctly recall. The stuff they encounter (and/or survive) is fairly remarkable.

Have a peek if interested. It IS entertaining, and herself is 'charming'. PLEASE don't climb all over us about the lack of clothing - it's bloody HOT where they are, in the Indian Ocean, said The "MCP".

(Link above.)

Disclaimer: the Aussie Accents may take some getting comfy with. Just sayin'.

Hugs, Wordpecker

LOL... When I read thru your report I thought about this sentence for a bit before I realized you were speaking of humans and not a dog breed....

Cannot recall seeing many 'Humpback Women' in recent years Tom, let alone a 22 yr old!

Think we'll leave this track RIGHT NOW, before digging ourself a very deep Ditch.~
