Did our annual September trip to the BOQ. Managed to hook up quite a few fish. The winds were devastating and more than a few of us were green. My one friend did manage to chum the water. It took a lot of hard work just to get to where we wanted to be in the big water. Once there we set up 4 lines, 2 flat and 2planner boars. Planner boards were a challenge with the waves being so large. It wasn’t easy spotting fish on the boards but we managed. We managed to hit 10 fish on Friday and Saturday most around the 9 pound mark. Took a few home. Lots of staging fish already. Good luck everyone! Image

Nice job on the fish in some rough conditions. Curious how the flatlines did vs the planerboard lines?

I was on Wellers Bay on the 12th. My son and I caught 3 large mouth and 5 or 6 Pike all between 4 to 7 lb.
I fished deep and shallow weed edges and came up empty for Walleyes. I am not used to fishing in the fall as I was usually duck Hunting.
I need to learn where the Walleyes go when the water cools down.
Green Weeds or Sand or Gravel or deep holes? I'll figure them out. It just takes time.

If you’re looking for migrating walleye they are not there yet. If you’re looking for the resident walleye population , weeds weeds weeds
