Big changes at Huff's. Road has been completely redone. Shoulders replaced with ditches. Small turn around at the water. No parking signage everywhere.
Even the shoulder from the field to the water is blocked with boulders. Have to drag your sled down the road from the field

Anyone taking a chance and leaving their vehicle on the road will be blocking it.

You can still park on the ice if it's thick enough.

I spoke to the owners of the field and when there's ice, they'll open it for parking and put a sign out.

The field being open is not an indication of safe ice. That's your responsibility.

The parking is $5.00 for the day and you can come and go throughout the day.

I would encourage you to use the field and give the owners incentive to offer it for parking.

Without the field, access at Huff's will be severely limited.

Robinson,
Thanks for the update much appreciated. You're exactly right if the owner doesn't see an incentive to open his property then access will be lost. Hopefully everyone pays their parking and takes their garbage with them.

I wouldn’t be venturing out from Huffs any time soon. There were lots of open pockets of water yesterday at my place just north of Huffs, they froze over last night but I was able to break through tossing rocks from my shore. Be safe and stay healthy everyone.

From where we sit, seeing the Forecast tonight, conditions down the road could NOT be much worse.

It's gonna be a long time before we even THINK about heading out there.

Be VERY careful.
