Ok so new to fourm and relatively new to ice fishing. Lots of luck with perch in gilmour area. My question is about finding lakers and walleye. I live close to both stoco and moria and thought I'd fish walleye in one of those two. But dont know how to fish for them. Never cought one open water or ice. Same boat with lakers. Not even sure what lake to try. I have done my research and know lakes that have both spicies just looking for starter tips for a newby to the ice world. If anyone can give me some Info on tips for either species and info on moria or stoco gladly appreciate it. And never fished the bay of quinte so dont know where to access down there and what to expect.
Thanks rob

You have a flasher or fish finder? That's probably the main thing I would say...
You'd have a hard time convincing me to go on the ice and fish if I accidentally left my flasher at home.

I'll be honest with you, I'm still trying to figure out the Bay...just starting to figure it out by trial and error. A lot of wasted hours on the water in no mans land, lots of studying navionics...and now I've got a few spots that I have confidence in. But no where near as good as some guys on this forum.

For Lake trout - you can go to Fish On-line...it will show you what stocked lakes are around you. Personally...I really enjoyed last year going to a number of different lakes that I had never tried before and catching lake trout and splake. And for some reason, I've never had luck using tip-ups on the Bay for walleye but for small lake trout and splake they seem to work well. So that is also a different thing that I've found.

Anyways - hope that helps.
