The great January weather had my son and I on Lake Ontario chasing Lake Trout. One of my best afternoons on the water. I love catching big fish and helping friends break personal best, but when it’s one of my boys I get really excited. I had the chance 3 times today to fist pump and yell a couple “ $&@/ yeas”. Lots of fish caught with the best being a super fat 18 pounder then a gorgeous orange tailed monster weighing over 22 pounds. What a day, what a Lake. Image

SUPER - PB's are always a good thing and with the youngster's even better.

Good job getting out and sharing your success.

wow...beautiful fish.

They look like they belong in the sub-arctic...same colours and size you get north of 50. Folks spend mucho $$$ to chase those things in places like Great Slave or Athabasca...but here down south, we take them for granted just because they're in our backyard ! I've never understood why some "Lake O Salmon guys" don't give these big beautiful Char the respect they deserve..

Thanks for sharing, and congrats on the PB's !!

Couldn’t agree more Crow! I love chasing salmon but the season here is so short. These beast are around dec to late may. 30 fish days multiple 20s on same trip some times. It’s a world class fisheries. But hey I’m ok without the crowds.

Here is a different pic of that fish. I’ve pulled the odd laker out of Lady O. Think this is my favourite Image

Let me start by saying absolutely beautiful fish !!

If you're okay without the crowds... makes me surprised you post anything.

I know I wouldn't, I'd be keeping it all to myself.

I realize it's a large lake, but the internet is larger lol

No disrespect, fish are awesome, good job, especially with the kids.

I get it and that’s your choice. I wouldn’t be catching these fish if people didn’t post to inspire then answer my questions when contacted. ( thanks Rob Henry, Big Mac) I don’t give out specifics but always try to help people that contact me so they can enjoy these kinds of moments. There is a big difference in 4 to five boat crowds and 80 boats the salmon guys deal with.
I don’t fish tournaments nor am I trying to make a living out of it. Just love catching and helping others enjoy this fishery.
But hey you do you. No issue

Shout out to a few guys on here that helped with some reference to catching some Lakers I had the personal experience this fall with a bit of Q and A was able to go hard at it for a week and half catching some Lakers of a life time including 1 over 25 and 2 over 20. Big thank you to those who helped it’ was very useful. Not once did I get crowded or even see another boat fishing the same area I was which was shocking. The resources are nice, guys don’t need to give away their “honey holes” or “Favorite lure” to help others out!
