Deseronto is probably the worst ice on the bay. I'd stay clear of it until next weekend. Most any other location on the bay is now fishable. If you need to fish Deseronto, spud every few feet. Don't fish alone. Wear a survival suit. BATMAN

Thanks Batman, where on the bay might there be decent ice, obviously I don't want to die for a fish.
Thanks for any sugestions you may have..
I'm not looking for gps numbers just a general area. A friend told me to go to the island,I always think they are referring to the island at Deseronto but they mean Big island..
Is there any local minnow shops that you'd suggest?
Thanks again for any help..

Just got off the ice at deseronto. 4.5 5inch black ice. Few perch some really good marks but no takers had one chase to 5ft and hang about for 10min but he was uninterested in our offerings. Stay safe out there all.

ice was about 8 inches solid black going out from the end of mill st, fished about 18 feet of water but be careful of the big pressure crack you can see ice pushed up and water on surface going out. As for the fishing I caught a million perch, two over 12 the rest dinks, and three pike and lost another pike, no walleye.

Out a couple times this week at Deseronto. At bridge ramp on Monday. Only 2-4 inches of bad ice. Out near Foresters island mid week. Ice was not much better than at the bridge. Didn't spend much time at either spot before giving up with only bites from perch in 15 ft of water. I would say it will be very hard to fish this weekend. BATMAN
