Hey guys,

I’m looking to head out this Sunday or Monday to the Huffs area and haven’t been there in a few years so could I ask if there is parking near by and the ice thickness or hazardous areas I should know about.
Thanks.

Been fishing there a few times this week, ice has at least 5-7 inches where I have been fishing in anywhere from 19-23 ft of water, so not out in the middle. If you go down Huffs lane there is a field on the left hand side half way down where you can park. It’s $5 and there is a box on one of the gate poles. Or if you get there earlier enough you can park on the ice I usually only go out on the ice if I can get one of the first 5 spots on either side. Personal preference on not risking my truck going thru but many people park out further. As always Huffs is ever changing so please use caution and get out safely. Bite as been slow the past week, good luck.

That just figures  I was out there last night and didn't have a bite. Been out there eight times in the last three weeks and have caught one. The wind is out of my sails and decided to stay home today and do home stuff. Well at least now I have hope for next time. Thanks for the post!!

Was at Huffs this morning.
5” of black ice. Just south of red buoy, 100 feet from me, guy said 2 inch of ice. Said water was coming out of hole, probably current.
I marked quite few fishes. 3 followed my lure up to 7 feet from surface. No bites at all. Regardless, the wife and I enjoyed being out there.

Went for the afternoon fish, marked 5 walleye, no takers, lots of perch on the screen. Fished in 25ft to the right of the launch. Snow was not to deep. A little harder pulling, but not to deep to use a quad. Surface water starting to show in some area's, could be slushy their. Ice thickness was 8 inches and I was maybe 200 yards from the ramp. Having a bad year catching, hoping for a good spring.

We were also out. A lot of perch and some big marks. Most likely big Sheepshead. Our 650 cc can am just made it through the deep snow. We saw 3” and 6” of ice. Watch where you go. Not many people out. Must mean something. BATMAN

Still lots of ice at huffs, any where from 6 to 10 inches, with in 350 metre's from ramp. Lots of perch, walleye markings are getting rare. Walking getting harder with soft snow on top, saw 6 quads on the ice
