Hi All,

Just bought a new Legend 18' XTR Troller with the 115. Delivery is still a couple of weeks out. I am am looking for some general info not your GPS coordinates. I have fished Scotch Bonnet in the spring for Lakers with my dad in his boat. But I am also looking for info on the rest of the gang. I grew up on Lake St. Clair and always fished Lake Erie for bows. I have the gear but not necessarily all the lures. I also don't have a timeline and general location & depth for the fish. I would be grateful for any info. Thanks.

Shawn

Stacey at Protackle has all the lures and equipment as well as the inside track of what’s biting what, where. He is always willing to help and is a great resource.

Well the Atlantic should be easy to cross off the list.

The Bonnet is a good place to start for most of the species that you mentioned.
Athol Bay and the shoreline from Wellington west to about Hubb's Creek road is a good bet for browns.
Forget about cohos, if you get one it will be an incidental catch. You have to go to about 350 fow
to target coho and be consistent in boating them.
You may catch the odd Atlantic when fishing browns in the spring, but otherwise forget about them.
lakers are in abundance i most areas here. Really easy to catch. Gang trolls and wobble trolls (called Peanuts).
Kings and Chinooks are the same species, and they can be caught easily off Wellington from 3rd week of June until late September if you know how. The reason that we can catch them very late in the season is the Central Lake Ontario Sport Anglers Chinook Salmon Pen--Imprinting project. The fry stay in cages in the Wellington harbour for approx 30 days to imprint to the cues in the water to return in 3 years when mature.
Hopefully when this Covid craps is over the club can get back to having meetings.

call me when the weather gets warmer and I will meet you at the Wellington Chinook pens and talk about kings in more detail.
