Guys,

Normally you only need to register your boat if it is 10 hp or over and is non-commercial use. There is no cost for this.

Most people do not need to licence their boat unless it is 10 hp or over and is for commercial use.

Big difference between Registered or Licensed boat.

Just saying,
BATMAN

Wow is right.

The Canada Gov. website still says no fees for PCL's.

There's talk of proposed fees,

https://tc.canada.ca/en/corporate-servi ... am#toc-7-2.

Canada (proposed)

$15.00 fee for new issuance, renewal, duplicate, or transfer of licence

Applies to all pleasure craft, regardless of length, equipped with motors of 10 horsepower (7.5 kilowatts) or more, including personal watercraft, which are principally maintained or operated in Canada as well as all pleasure craft (including all power-driven and sail-alone vessels) more than 6 metres in length with the exception of human-powered boats (e.g. kayak).

No fee to change owner address or to cancel a licence

Vessel registration and titling is administered by Transport Canada,

https://www.ofah.org/insider/2021/01/bo ... rt-canada/

I'm wondering if you got the wrong form or ticked off the wrong box, because there's fees for boats with a name and port of registry.

For boat owners who wish to have an approved name and port of registry for your vessel, register a marine mortgage, or show proof of ownership, you will want to register your boat in the Canadian Register of Vessels. There is a fee of $250 to register your vessel and $150 to transfer registration.

You likely ended up on the website https://canadianvesselregistry.ca/
This is not Transport Canada. They are a private company who handle your registry related requests and charge you way more than Transport Canada does for their service. Some would call it a SCAM.

It is free to change your address for your pleasure craft at this link: https://tc.canada.ca/en/marine-transpor ... sure-craft

Yes you got the scam website. Sorry to hear that.
I noticed the two when I bought my last boat.
