Pretty tired of the COVID post and decided to post actual fishing post. Image
It’s been a great Laker season. One of the only plus to COVID was the amount of time I had to fish with no kids activities and wife working from home. Spoons on leadcore and riggers of course were a staple, but later in the season dipsey divers with agitators and spin n glos did some damage once the fish went deeper. Pretty busy some weekends on the water but nice to see more people enjoying this great fishery. Here some pics of the some the best of the year. Image

Nice! Great to see people out there. Avg. size is going way up. I used to do fall trips 20 years ago in from of Millhaven. Averaged 6-8 pounds. this is awesome.

THANK YOU FOR POSTING ABOUT FISHING!! Those are some beauties. I made it out a couple of times myself as well this spring with lots of fish in the low to high teens.

Getting pretty tired of all the Covid posts on this forum. This used to be a forum that was all about fishing. Seems all the posts lately are about people’s opinions on Covid instead of sharing fishing stories and info.

Some beauty fish Bob. Question for you. Have you ever tried jigging em? If so how did you make out?

I have tried jigging but if I don’t catch them in 5 mins I start trolling again. I do see a guy at that ramp all the time that jigs for them and has a lot of success. Not the same numbers as trolling but always seems to get 7 to 10. He tells me to cast in 60 feet of water on structure ( as you know the gap is full of tight lines ) let it sink and jig it back. Keep telling myself I will give it more time next year. But old dog new trick type of thing.

Why go to Northern Sask. to those expensive fly-ins when you can drive to catch beauty's like the ones you showed.

Thanks for sharing your enjoyment of the lakers.

Yes it’s a awesome opportunity for world class fish when not much else is open. Greasers get a lot of grief but I love them. 25 to 35 fish days not uncommon. More then 350 fish boated with 14 or more being over 20 pounds. I do live local and have a couple fishing buddies that are always down, we fish 3 to 4 days a week when the wind allows. Chased them all the way to main duck island this year. I already posted this beast earlier in the year but it was the beautiful orange finned 23 pounder my son landed. Image
