Daily limit and possession limit are two different things.
Daily limit is what you can keep in a day.
Possession is what you can have total in your possession (your freezer counts).
Provincial Walleye possession limit is 6, zone 20 sport license walleye daily limit is 4.
If you have 2 walleye in your freezer then you can only keep 2 walleye.
If you have 0 fish in your freezer but catch 4 in the morning and keep them. Your daily limit has been reached and your possession limit is at 4. If you come in and eat them or give them away. Your possession limit goes down to 0 but your daily limit has still been reached. Your daily limit does not reset until midnight even though your possession is back to 0.
To further complicate things I don’t believe you can possess more fish from a single fishery managment zone then the daily day limit. So even though the provincial possession limit is 6 you can’t have more then 4 walleye from zone 20. You could have 4 walleye from zone 20 and 2 from zone 18.
