Been out a couple times lately , once to the larry and the other out on the lake. The larry was good with about 30ish fish on the day. Found a honey hole loaded in fish up to 4 lbs and spent a few hours catching em. They were 18-40ft deep and everything came on a drop shot bait. So many fish but couldnt find anything over 4 lbs. It was a very calm day and the current was non existent which is how i stumbled across this spot as the usual spots were not happening so I took a time out to scope out the map on the fishfinder looking for current close to where I was and found a a spot that looked like it might have current. A couple days later went out to the lake and the 1st thing I noticed was the water was slightly stained. The smallies were a bit sleepy but first fish was 5.41 and lost another right after it on the jump and it looked bigger. The river fish have wayyy more fight in them than the lake fish. Not sure what I luv more the reel screaming with a feisty river fish or a slob black lake fish. Around timber and false duck saw lots of suspended big hooks on the fishfinder, my guess is they were walleye.

Thanks for the report Dan.

I've found fishing on the Lake a bit harder this year for size. Lots on smaller ones on the spots I usually fish where they're typically bigger.

Drop-shot has been the best method so far and for some reason, can't keep a smallie on a tube.

Cheers,

Paul
