The easing of travel restrictions was the reason for my son and family to visit, A late arrival on Saturday made Sunday fishing a go.

Headed to Mallory and fished the south side on the Q6 Shoal and we found the fish.

Fished for 2.75 hrs, it was brutally hot. Here are the results.19-20-21 inches

Monday was the same story, cept we fished the north side of Mallory and we found the fish again in the weed edges. We went 5 for 8 and had a lot of fun. Hotter than Blazes again.

We were having fun fishing and looked forward to Tuesday and it was blowing as we rounded Ram Is. The 2 footers would make Mallory impossible to fish the weeds. Plan B brought us to the big bay south-east of Witlow Point, where we found the weeds again and a bunch of fish.

Grandson William hooked and landed a handsome 6.7lbs Northern, not his biggest but a nice fight on a 7.5 foot rod.

Image

A short while later, Grandson Albert has one one and it taking drag, slowly to the net and it's a 25 incher, scaled at 5.25 lbs - great fish.

Image

We made 8 passes back and forth and hit 7 eyes, Pike and perch and sheepies not included.

Tuesday's catch

Image

Wednesday the last morning, brought us back to the same spot - "Don't leave fish to find fish" is what us Oldtimers say...

Son Dave fishing with an ultra light spinning rod hit this one and it took all his wits and skills to bring it to the net, a beauty - over 7lbs.

Image

We cut the morning short and headed back with a nice batch of fish again.

Image

The total for the four mornings of fishing was 24 walleye, a couple pike, half dozen sheepies, lost count of yellow and silver perch. Everyone was kept busy while we were out and everyone had a great trip to Quinte.

The fish were present at both places in 08 -12 feet and the Uzick Spinner proved itself once again.

Stay Tuned

Very nice Dave, I get that privilege next week. I will be up on Pigeon Lake for a few days with the grandchildren. Catching fish is good, spending time with them is great. From one G parent to the other, I can not get enough time with them. Thanks for the adventure.
