Hey members new to your forum and looking forward to watching what is happening in the area. Normally fish Erie and have never fished BOQ area before. Bringing my 14 year old grandson to fish mid October. Not looking for any secret spots or insider tips, we all earn these ourselves, but a starting point to get some walleye and even smallies if possible. I really want to keep the kids fishing fires stoked. He has caugh a single smallie and I want to put him on a few decent fish. I have read the regs for the area and understand the slot and limits. Big area looking for a few starting points and maybe techniques as well. We enjoy a great walleye fishery along the north shore of Erie in and around Port Burwell I would be happy if we do half as well in BOQ, I understand it may be tougher fishing but is home to Monsters.

Thanks in advance. Rick

The smallie population is great in the bay but very tough to find them. A lot of bass fisherman fish them a lot near the lighthouse between Deseronto and Belleville. Walleye in October. Troll deep if you are planning on just fishing the bay itself. Up around Thompson’s point and troll out and around and go towards the glenora ferry.

Not Prime Time for Wallies, Bud - massive understatment!!

Good luck, but be prepared for REALLY tough Fishing regardless of area.

Yes sir I do indeed have a boat. Set up well for Erie Walleye trolling. I understand I will probably need to change up techniques for the BOQ area. We usually troll around 2:5-3 mph. I use riggers, dipsie divers, lead core and big boards. New kicker on the back and a terrova on the front. Hope I can learn the fishery in the area and looking forward to it.
