Was at the dock getting it ready for pulling on Saturday and noticed out in the middle of the Bay, a HUGE flock of cormorants feeding. I've seen them before as they move up the bay with birds diving and others following. It's like a circular motion of birds in the water and on top as they feed.

Something spooked them and they took off, I would hazard a guess at 500 - 600 birds, lots of bait fish going down the gullet.......

Any one else see lots of cormorants????

They were all out in front of my place that is on Mohawk bay on Tuesday. Cormorants and seagulls galore. Looking in the water off my dock today there were many schools of minnows by the hundreds about 4-5 inches long. They definitely weren’t shad but I couldn’t quite make out what they actually were. Almost looked like small river chub

I seen hundreds a the mouth of bass cove, they literally lined the mouth of the cove and went under pushing the baitfish to the back where the cormorants and the seagulls would have a feast. Then once they were done that round they would reposition and do it all over again.

Something needs to be done about these birds, or the amounts of these birds. At eating 2 pounds of fish per day, they have to be doing some damage.
