A couple friends and I launched out of Finkle Park yesterday for a 1/2 day trolling in the reach. Arrived in newly paved and empty parking lot at 7:30. Started the gap and worked west to the lighthouse. Closer to the gap seemed to be a few schools of really deep fish which I suspect were lakers. The further west we went the quieter the screen was. never lifted a rod except to change lures. Ran lures from 15 ft down to 35 ft down, dont like to run anything deeper than that for eyes because of barotrauma. Fish are still out in the lake. We were in the Rapala Quinte fishdonkey series and thought I would see more boats but only saw about 10-12 boats out and didnt see any nets going over the side. Water temp was 57 so it has a way to go yet.

Hey Dan, I’ve been out most days but take Sunday off or you would have seen me out there. This last week was really slow, I think it was due to the low pressure system (east winds) but today picked up a bit as the pressure rose and as it stabilizes this week it should be good fishing at the end of the week.

Today was a bit better again and some good fish hit the deck. These clients would have taken 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the Gold Series. Better sign up as it only takes a few bites!!

Nice report guys. I finally made it out yesterday. It was a gorgeous day. My father and I launched out of finkles around 10:45 and we were set up around 11:10. Started in the reach just east of Prinyers cove. Washed lures for about an hour and finally got a bite, the fish felt decent but came unbuttoned before we had a chance to see it. Kept trolling for another couple of hours with no action until around 3 o'clock. Then manged to pick up 2 walleye and 2 Sheephead in the next hour before picking up our lines to head home. The walleye not monsters( about 5 and 8 lbs)but I will take them everyday. Fish came from about 28' down so both fish were released without issue. Good Luck out there guys and be safe!

Thanks for the early reports. The pictures are always great to see. Looking froward to pulling some crankbaits there later this month.
