Well, the wind was from the north west today and I thought it might be a little bumpy in Adolphus Reach so We headed over to the mouth of Hay Bay (Long Reach) We trolled the usual circle there. There were a couple of other boats doing the same.

The sonar showed promise that there was fish to catch, but were they biting?

It was a beautiful sunny day. Not really the kind of day that's preferred for pickerel fishing but finally after a few hours, one of our planer boards indicated a fish.

Image

After a brief but exciting battle. We landed a 28 inch pike. Not the sought after species but not a skunk for the day either.

Image

The pike was caught on a Barbie Reef Runner with 150 feet of line behind the planer board and no snap weight in 30 feet of water.

The fish didn't cooperate today but we had fun anyway!

Tight lines!

Nice pike, we thought about fishing there as well. It's wild that the temp is so radically different from deseronto to the gap. 10 degrees difference, deseronto being much colder. We managed 2 eaters near the lighthouse in the reach. Funny thoe as we caught them in 10 minutes how fast we were crowded out of our troll line...lol we picked our fish both up on flicker 9s pulling lead.

Nice work Kevin

Looks like you are getting out quite a bit this fall.
I was out on the 20th and 21st only sheephead to show for it.
I thought I saw your boat a couple of times
Speaking of crowded lines I feel like an aircraft controller trying to navigate out there and not piss anyone off.
Keep up the good reporting most appreciated.

Rob
