Launched at waupoos yesterday for some smallmouth fishing. Started out looking deep like 40' plus but didn't see anything....hmm. Water was 40 degrees and as clear as it gets. I could see bottom in 38' and if the sun was out probably could of sight fished, crazy clear water. After jumping around a bit decided to move up a bit from the deeper water to 27' and found some. Action wasn't crazy but on the day close to 20 fish. Only a single fish that I eyeballed to be under 3 lbs and the rest were all hawgs. Tubes and deadsticking or very little jigging was the trick for us. The bites were very very subtle and easy to miss. Unlike the summer time, we never marked a fish but they were there.
