Has anyone ventured out onto the Bay to see the ice conditions? Curious what it’s like off potters Creek saw a few huts out there and off Wilkie I’m sure there’s ice just not sure how much. Can anyone give any update?

Took a drive for gas and smokes yesterday the 4th. Looks like she is iced over from as far as I could see from Centennial park at the launch. It was open two days earlier so not safe for sure. Held my weight just off the shore but very spongie and I would guess not much more than 2 inches and less as you move offshore. Looks like a pressure crack out in the middle towards foresters. Not my cup of tea yet but another 3-5 days of minus temps would help the cause. These winds today though could open it all back again! Stay safe stay off in this area.

No fib; Dear Wife says there was a 'hut' out on the North Section of the Bay earlier this morning, near the Water Tower between Trenton and B'ville...

...we'll assume/hope it was a 'Flip Up' Single. Gone by the Time we looked... maybe sank?~

Simply cannot be much Ice yet, however apparently SOMEBODY was out there with some kinda 'hut'.

Wowzer!!!~

THAT is pushing it in our opinion, BUT we didn't see a 'hole'.

Seems to happen every year. A few days of cold makes ok ice on key spots. A few get out and do very well. Then weather changes for the worst and fishing gets shut down for a week. Sure there will be ice tomorrow but it's going to be really hard to trust it. Time to be extra cautious. Stay safe. BATMAN

Went over the Bay Bridge this morning. One hit out from Potters and second one between Potters and bridge. Yesterday there were many huts out. Water below bridge opened up significantly since yesterday. Good Luck. BATMAN

I wonder how big bay is looking after all this wind and rain we’ve gotten today. Could make the rivers be running pretty fast again. Heard there was 4 inches on big island going off wagers. Did anyone brave the wind and rain today and get out off Big Island?
