Swedish pimple will always be my go to. Dad and I were fishing the other night we got on this topic. He has ice fished since he could now 59. And his answer was either a pimple, mr champ , or buckshot. But if he needed just 1. It would be a silver and orange pimple

last year for size, freedom jigging shad, for numbers, toss up between shiver minnow and freedom turn back shad. but also slender spoon, pimple, kastmaster and others all get their turn at bat

Mine as well, I fish the 1/2 oz if they are aggressive and the 1/4 oz if they are shy. I believe there is an 1/8 oz as well. most times it is orange and gold yet I will still hook up the silver and green. Another bottom pounder I use frequently is the Hopkins Smoothie in the nickel hammered finish. Dickie S. if you are around I believe it is Sweep sweep lift and dust the shelf.

Gold Mr. Champ. Have used them for over 40 yrs. Always caught fish on them. My favorite was a coffin shaped jig in copper. The guy that gave it to me said it was a Champ. Never seen one like it. Great lure. Big and heavy.

Got into something big off Trident Pt.. Snapped 30lbs mono like nothing. Almost broke the fiberglass pole I was fishing with. Three of us in the shack and all had our lines snapped and lures lost within 5 minutes. No B.S.. Never experienced anything like that. Like seeing a sasquatch.

Never found another copper coffin shaped Champ. The gold works so I use it.
