Got out this evening out of the Trenton area for a couple hours. Had lines down about 4:25 in about 14' of water.

Managed to get a pike, about 5lbs, within a couple minutes, at 4:30. Not much after that until around 5:15, and then started to mark a fair few fish and we caught about 6 first year walleye (about 6").

A number of fish came up off bottom to inspect the lure, and then shot down to bottom as fast as they could. Not sure if they were perch or small walleye.

Had a few fish rip in on the fall of the rippin rap, then stare at it. All of the takers chased the lure up as I teased them, none wanted it dead tonight, just rising fairly slowly.

Not much, but a heck of a lot better than we have done so far this year... Hopefully next time we are out we will find some actual size to the walleye, along with some numbers. Here's hoping they're starting to feed again.

Glow fire tiger was what was doing it tonight. Not sure if anything else would have got them, as it got too cold to change and we were too busy to change. Did try a gold and glow slender spoon after the pike, but not much interest in that. Could have just been the time though.

If anyone ever see's us out and wants to say hi, I'm in a brown and tan snowsuit, and we have a red and black Rapala popup we sometimes put up (and then almost never use).

Last few days out of Trenton where we’ve been we’ve been seeing 10-16” of ice.
